I often went there with my mom’s ex and we would look at comics, games, and of course magic cards. I remember wandering around the store while he looked at cards, and I loved getting various things from the gotcha machines around the store. Going to Gabi’s was a big part of my childhood and I was always excited to go there.

Reading Time: 3 minutesGame Night Stats: Feb 2026 February was even less frequent than January.. This month we only had 1 game night in the whole month, but it was also my birthday so I did cancel the other game night we would’ve had because I was out of town… As you may notice, this month we haven’t […]

Reading Time: 4 minutesHonestly January was a pretty slow month for games. Right after the holidays people were pretty tired and often times sick or too busy for game night. Sometimes that happens though. While I do my best to keep game nights weekly, I often want 2 other people than myself to be there, which means that if more than 2 people call out the same week, I generally choose to cancel.

Reading Time: 12 minutesChristmas is a time for family, a time for friends, and of course board games. I generally get my biggest hauls on Christmas and my birthday (well aside from when I splurge on myself). That being said, I generally still get myself a few games for myself when I don’t think other people will get them for me. This past Christmas I got 6 board games, only 1 of which I got myself (plus some magic cards), and some accessories.

Reading Time: 7 minutesThe original table members are the people that started the game night habit with me all the way back in 2022. They are the people that you are going to see the most often as they are still the most prominent members at the table. It mostly with me asking JC if he wanted join, and he invited his friends A and E. While we all went to school together, I mostly hung out with JC one on one and A and E are definitely his friends more than mine. MB is another person I hangout with in school a decent amount, but in a different circle of friends. Over the years this group has grown to hangout outside of game night, like going to the movies, going to dinner, and doing other things.

Reading Time: 7 minutesWelcome to the Puzzles, The Board Game Co Blog. I decided to start this blog as a precursor to some day opening my own game store cafe. I figured if I can gain a following through the internet over the next 5-10 years, it’ll help finance my dream of being an LGS owner and supporting my community of fellow gamers. I have been actively following so many great board game enthusiasts over the last year – Grant Lyon, Ezeekat, Ginny Di, just to name a few. Over the last year they have really inspired me to do something that has been on my mind for 3-5 years now, which is start my own board game influencer journey.
