Meet the Table

N (me)

I’ve been playing board games since I was 3 years old and started with Disney princess memory. Over the years I mostly played with my dad who helped foster my love for board games. From starting with kids games like Memory, Chutes and Ladders, and Operations, to moving up to more complicated games like Ticket to Ride, Pandemic, and Fluxx, I learned that board games are so much more than little pieces of cardboard. Board games allow us to make memories and hangout with people we care about, while also using strategy and getting a couple hours a week to forget about the outside world. I created this blog as a place to share my love of board games with anyone who will listen. 

Facts:

The Original Table Members

The original table members are the people that started the game night habit with me all the way back in 2022. They are the people that you are going to see the most often as they are still the most prominent members at the table. It mostly with me asking JC if he wanted join, and he invited his friends A and E. While we all went to school together, I mostly hung out with JC one on one and A and E are definitely his friends more than mine. MB is another person I hangout with in school a decent amount, but in a different circle of friends. Over the years this group has grown to hangout outside of game night, like going to the movies, going to dinner, and doing other things. 

New Members of the Table

These are the newcomers at the table. I have known D since elementary school, however we didn’t reconnect until high school as we went to different middle schools. While D was at his middle school he met J and they became close friends. I met J while we were in high school when I started working at the same place him and D worked at. After I moved back from Georgia I reestablished game nights and D started to join. Once I started hanging out with D more outside of game nights I started to meet his group of friends and fellow table members like S and T. J, S and M are D’s standard pod for magic as well as D&D. I have also known M since high school, but we didn’t talk much. While D’s friends don’t play board games super often, they have taken part in my board games when I have asked, and have allowed me to take part in playing in there pod. 

Overall

Overall there is my group of members that consists of A, E, JC, MB and occasionally D. These are the people you’ll mostly see when it comes to actual game night stats. And then there’s D’s group which consists of J, M, S and sometimes T, which you’ll mostly see when we play Magic the Gathering (MTG). Some other people that you may see in earlier stats are R who doesn’t play with us anymore since he doesn’t live near by anymore, and the occasional Anon which is either a friend who only joined for one or a handful of games in a specific setting (thus they’re not really apart of the group) or a person who joined in a one off game (like a stranger at an LGS to make a full pod for MTG).
